A two part exhibition In Leiden

Part 1: Abstract Industrialism
When: 4 juni - 23 juli 2023 (Open on Friday, Saturday, Sunday 13-17hrs)
Where: Papegaaisbolwerk 20, 2312 LW Leiden

The exhibition originated from an initiative by Art van Triest. With works from Akmar, Badriah Hamelink, Erris Huigens, Johannes Langkamp, Christine Liebich, Eric martijn en Art van Triest.

Part 2: Kunsthalte
When: 24 juni - 14 juli 2023 (Open on Friday, Saturday, Sunday 13-17hrs)
Where: Cultuurplein Lammermarkt, Leiden

Kunst in het Singelpark (KIS) and Ars Aemula et Naturae are organizing a presentation of creative hubs on the Lammermarkt cultural square. Within the framework of Abstract Industrialism, EST presents a new work of mine and during the opening, from Eric martijn.

For this exhibition I am working on a new installation (see drawing) that will interfere with the space of a 20foot long shipping container. Visitors can enter the container and experience a kinetic space from the inside. At this point I want to express my gratitude to the CBK Rotterdam (Centrum Beeldenden Kunsten) as they made this large scale experiment possible.

An exhibition that is exciting for me personally will open next week and I hope you can be there!

For the first time, I will be sharing my archive publicly, containing a diverse collection of experiments. Why is this so special to me? It all started at the academy where I was already experimenting with the frame of the videocamera. This was given a stricter shape in the well-defined experiment 'every day one video' in which successful daily productions were placed next to the failed ones without constrains of choices. I have further developed the beauty of this concept in the years that followed and it has even been a red line throughout my daily practice to date.

The interplay between failure and success, small sketches and their elaboration into large installations play a central roll in my work. That is why, in addition to the archive, the exhibition also consists of new work, even some of them especially for the exhibition. The search for the framework cannot be fixed in mapped out plans and concepts devised in advance, but is a connected research in which the failure is just as valuable as a fully developed work of art.

Please feel welcome to join the exhibition opening on 20 November at 16:00hrs.

11 september 2022 t/m 15 januari 2023
Museum Jan Cunen, Oss

Panamarenko, Paradox, 1980-1986, gemengde techniek, Musée d'Ixelles, foto Vincent Everarts

Voorlinden Museum - Art is the Antidote
26 January - 23 October 2022

Lockdowns, hardening and division? Art is the antidote! Museum Voorlinden proves this with its new exhibition Art is the Antidote. With a large dose of sparkling, socially engaged and funny artworks from its own collection, the museum acts as a charging station, a place where you can build up your resistance. The exhibition is on display now, until 23 October 2022.
